Campaign Types
The three DelivrDSP campaign types, what each one buys, and the rules each one sets.
The short version
- A campaign type chooses the inventory a DelivrDSP campaign buys. There are three:
NATIVE,DISPLAY, andCTV. - The type is optional. A campaign with no type is composed from its goal alone.
- Each type buys through one shared deal. The deal sets a minimum bid, the devices served, and the creative formats allowed.
GET /api/v1/campaigns/typesreturns the table, with bid guidance in your own dollars.
The three types
| Type | Label | Devices | Channels | Creative types | Audiences | tagging goal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NATIVE | Native | Computer, phone, tablet | Web, in-app | NATIVE | Yes | Yes |
DISPLAY | Display | Computer, phone, tablet | Web, in-app | IMAGE, HTML | Yes | Yes |
CTV | Connected TV | Connected TV, set-top box | In-app | VIDEO_VAST, VIDEO_LINEAR | No | No |
All three serve the United States.
- Native. Ads that match the look of the page around them. Use a native creative.
- Display. Banner and rich-media ads. Use an image or HTML creative.
- Connected TV. Video ads on TV screens. Use a video creative. The requests carry no hashed email or UID2, so a CTV campaign cannot target an audience.
What a type changes
A typed campaign differs from an untyped one in these ways:
- Deal. The campaign buys through the type's deal. If you change the type, Delivr removes the old type's deal and adds the new one.
- Starting bid. The type's suggested bid replaces the goal's starting bid.
- Creatives. The campaign accepts only the creative types in the table.
- Serving rules. Delivr refuses a campaign the deal cannot serve. The refusal names the cause:
- The campaign targets only devices the deal does not serve.
- A
CTVcampaign names audiences. Settargeting_modetono_audienceand send no audiences. If you send none, aCTVcampaign usesno_audienceby default. - A
CTVcampaign uses thetagginggoal. Requests on a CTV deal cannot fire the identity pixel.
Bids
Each type has a deal floor and bid guidance. They are two different rules:
- The floor refuses. A bid below the type's floor returns an error. The deal would never consider it.
- The guidance warns. A bid below the suggested value, a minimum below the guided minimum, or a maximum above the guided maximum returns a warning. The campaign is still created.
The values are CPM dollars. They are shown in the dollars of your account, so read them from the endpoint and do not hard-code them.
Read the table
curl "https://api.delivr.ai/api/v1/campaigns/types?project_id=YOUR_PROJECT_ID" \
-H "X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" \
-H "X-Api-Secret: YOUR_API_SECRET"The call requires project_id. It bills nothing. The response has one entry per type:
{
"campaign_types": [
{
"type": "CTV",
"label": "Connected TV",
"deal": { "name": "Delivr_CTV", "floor_usd": 0.1 },
"bid": { "min": 8.0, "suggested": 9.51, "max": 30.0 },

"channels": ["in_app"],
"countries": ["US"],
"creative_types": ["VIDEO_VAST", "VIDEO_LINEAR"],
"identity_tagging": false,
"audience_supported": false
}
]
}| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
type, label | The value you send as campaign_type, and its display name. |
deal.floor_usd | The lowest bid the deal accepts. |
bid.min, bid.suggested, bid.max | The bid guidance. min is absent for a type with no confirmed minimum. |
devices, channels, countries | What the deal serves. |
dsp_devices | The same devices, in the values used by the campaign's dsp_config.devices. |
creative_types | The creative formats a campaign of this type accepts. |
identity_tagging | Whether the tagging goal can run. |
audience_supported | Whether the campaign can target audiences. |
The example shows one entry, and its dollar figures are illustrative. The real response returns all three types, with figures in your account's dollars. Fields can be added to the response, so ignore fields you do not know.
Set the type on a campaign
Send campaign_type as NATIVE, DISPLAY, or CTV when you create or update a campaign. Any other value is refused. The campaign API returns the type on each campaign. See Launch a DelivrDSP Campaign with the API.
